A campaign worker for New York Mayor Eric Adams allegedly attempted to slip a reporter cash concealed inside a crumpled potato chip bag.
Katie Honan, a journalist with THE CITY news website, was covering a campaign event for the mayor in Harlem when she claims Winnie Greco, a long-time Adams associate, tried to hand her an envelope filled with money hidden in an empty chip packet. The campaign aide reportedly texted her requesting a meeting at a nearby grocery store.
THE CITY revealed that an envelope stuffed with a $100 bill and several $20 bills was “inside an opened bag of Herr’s Sour Cream and Onion ripple potato chips.”
