One block in Manhattan’s East Village is overflowing with e-bikes.
Neighbors say more than 125 delivery bikes line East 10th Street, crammed against curbs, into corrals, and even spilling into the roadway. City workers have already stepped in, but the problem hasn’t gone away.
What the City Tried
Earlier this summer, the NYPD and Department of Sanitation seized about 30 bikes. They also installed new bike corrals nearby. The hope was to clear space and ease tension.
But weeks later, residents say little has changed. The bikes keep coming back. The block still looks like a parking lot.
Why It’s Happening
The bikes belong to food delivery workers. With no secure or affordable parking, riders leave them clustered outside restaurants and apartments while waiting for their next order…
