WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – A car crash at the intersection of S. Kerr Avenue and Randall Parkway ended in the arrest of a wanted man, according to the Wilmington Police Department (WPD).
WPD says 47-year-old James Flythe of Newark, New Jersey, was in his car, traveling on South College Road, when SWAT tried to stop him and take him into custody.
Flythe sped away and turned west on Randall Parkway. WPD states that the officers stopped chasing after him “due to the man’s erratic behavior and out of an abundance of caution for nearby motorists and pedestrians.”
Flythe continued to drive until he ran a red light and hit another car at the intersection of Randall Parkway and South Kerr Avenue…
