Man, 18, faces federal machine gun charge in killing of bystander, 69, in East Harlem

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — An 18-year-old man was arrested Thursday and is facing federal charges in the fatal shooting of a 69-year-old grandmother with a walker in East Harlem last week.

Faisil McCants is accused of firing 15 rounds from a machine gun on a public street on August 27, striking and killing Robin Wright near East 110th Street and Madison Avenue.

Wright, who was with a friend and using a walker at the time, was not the intended target. She was caught in the crossfire of what police believe to be a gang-related dispute over drug dealing…
