With a pivotal deadline looming next Friday, elected officials and family members of Win Rozario are urging NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch to quickly level disciplinary charges against the officers involved in the killing of the 19-year-old at his home in Queens last year.
City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams and Public Advocate Jumaane Williams are among those sounding the alarm over the approach of the deadline, which determines how high the bar will be at a disciplinary hearing for proving that officers Salvatore Alongi and Matthew Cianfrocco committed misconduct in their response to Rozario’s own 911 call that he was in mental distress.
