Brooklyn nightclub massacre suspect cries in court: ‘I want to go home’

NEW YORK (PIX11) — Federal prosecutors released stunning video Wednesday showing the chaotic moments of a nightclub massacre that left three people dead and 10 others wounded.

Authorities said Elijah Roy, 25, was one of five alleged gunmen who opened fire Aug. 17 inside “Taste of the City,” a Brooklyn nightclub known as a troubled hangout. Prosecutors said about 40 rounds were fired in just six seconds as patrons scrambled for safety.

Two of the shooters were killed that night. The FBI arrested Roy this week in North Carolina, and he appeared in federal court on Wednesday afternoon, where he cried and told his family, “I want to go home,” before being remanded into custody.

Roy’s mother and sister left the courthouse without comment. His attorney said the video evidence is unclear…
