Police in Brooklyn are investigating a violent altercation that occurred at a Costco store in Sunset Park on Sunday. The incident, which was captured on video and circulated online, involved two men arguing over a shopping cart. The argument escalated when one man struck the other, causing the 42-year-old victim to fall and hit his head on a cart, resulting in injuries to his forehead and eyelid.
The fight broke out just before 4 p.m. inside the crowded warehouse. According to the New York Police Department, the victim was treated for his injuries, but no arrests have been made as the investigation continues.
Shoppers at the Sunset Park Costco have noted that the store and its parking lot on Third Avenue are often overcrowded, contributing to heightened tensions. “There’s a lot of tension here, from the parking lot to inside,” said shopper Yizhou Jiang.
