Nor’easter to pummel New York City with high winds, heavy rain and lethal rip currents this weekend

It won’t be a great weekend for outdoor activities in New York City as a Nor’easter is set to pummel the region.

The strong coastal storm is beginning to take shape and is likely to drench the city in heavy rain while bringing high winds and the possibility of coastal flooding. “Coastal storm, nor’easter, which is coming into the Tri-State with a good amount of wind and rain, perhaps some beach erosion,” FOX 5 NY’s Mike Woods warned.

NYC is already being impacted by king tides along the coast while facing the indirect effects of Tropical Storm Jerry. It comes before Siberian snow is set to bring ‘intense’ cold for NYC this winter as the polar vortex is disrupted.
