LONG ISLAND, N.Y. (PIX11) — All New York City Public Schools will be closed on Monday in observance of Diwali.
Although Diwali is a recognized holiday by the New York Department of Education, the mandate for closure only applies to New York City schools. Districts across Long Island will still be open for classes on Monday, but some will not.
