A jury on Monday convicted a former state correction officer of second-degree murder — and acquitted two other former officers — in the killing of Robert Brooks, an incarcerated man beaten to death last year inside Marcy Correctional Facility upstate.
The verdict against David Kingsley, one of three officers on trial, marks the second conviction stemming from Brooks’ December 2024 death.
