NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A man working at a Hudson Yards construction site died on Thursday morning after falling over 100 feet from a building into a construction hole.
The worker was discovered at the bottom of a 60-foot construction hole near 12th Avenue and 30th Street—a site of the Hudson Tunnel Project, part of the larger Gateway Project—just before 9 a.m., the FDNY said. It appears he fell into the hole from at least 50 feet up the building.
Fire officials said the man was removed from the hole via a stokes basket, and rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
