A Brooklyn man, Nicholas McGee, 48, has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for the murder and dismemberment of Kawsheen Gelzer, 39, in Flatbush. Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez announced the sentencing and highlighted the importance of legal accountability in such cases.
The incident occurred in March 2022 at McGee’s apartment on Nostrand Avenue. Investigators reported that McGee stabbed Gelzer while he was sleeping, causing multiple injuries, and struck him with a hammer. After the incident, McGee and his wife, Heather Stines, took items from Gelzer and used them.
