A 41-year-old man detained at the Delaney Hall Detention Facility in Newark died after suffering a medical emergency while in Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody, according to ICE.
Jean Wilson Brutus, a Haitian national, passed away on Dec. 12 from suspected natural causes, one day after entering ICE custody at the Newark facility, ICE said.
Brutus was transferred to Delaney Hall on Dec. 11 after being released from the Union County Jail in Elizabeth following an arrest for criminal mischief involving damage to property, ICE said…
