Teen shot and wounded at East Harlem housing complex on Christmas Eve

NEW YORK, N.Y. – A 16-year-old boy was shot in the back Wednesday afternoon at an East Harlem public housing complex, according to New York City police.

The shooting occurred around 12:59 p.m. at a building on East 102nd Street near FDR Drive inside the New York City Housing Authority’s East River Houses, police said. Responding officers found the teen suffering from a gunshot wound to the back. He was taken to an area hospital, where he was reported to be in stable condition.

It was not immediately clear whether the teen was shot inside or outside the building. Police said the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation, and no arrests have been made…
