Former NYC Mayor Eric Adams Responds to Andy Cohen’s Rant About Him: ‘New Yorkers Aren’t Laughing’

Former New York City Mayor Eric Adams didn’t care for Andy Cohen’s critical rant against him during CNN’s New Year’s Eve Live — now, he’s speaking out and slamming Cohen for being seemingly intoxicated on air.

While waiting for the ball to drop and helping to usher in 2026, Cohen, 57, stood alongside co-host Anderson Cooper and guest BJ Novak when he began to comment on the outgoing mayor ahead of Zohran Mamdani being sworn in early in the morning on Thursday, January 1.

“Watching the final moments of Mayor Adams’ chaotic, horrible… I just want to say, he got his pardons,” Cohen began as his cohosts tried to steer him away from the rant, per TMZ. “I’m just saying, great, you got your pardons. Go off into the sunset. We’ll fiddle with what we have, with what you left us with. Go dance away, we’ll see you at all the parties. You’ve partied your way through four years.”

He went on to joke that the former Mayor may have helped reduce the rat population in the city, quipping: “But isn’t that a metaphor of sorts?”
