The US ‘cannot survive’ onslaught of ICE arrests, says New York protester at huge rally

The streets of New York City were full of protesters demanding that Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents leave after a U.S. citizen was killed in a raid in Minneapolis yesterday.

Demonstrators gathered at Federal Plaza in Lower Manhattan, where Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem appeared to discuss ICE operations. Following the death of Renee Nicole Good, protesters blocked the streets, chanting her name.

“I’m hoping that people who up until now have been going along with what’s happening with ICE and this administration will finally wake up and see that this is absolutely morally wrong,” said Emily, a 60-year-old from Brooklynite who didn’t want to give her last name. “It’s reprehensible, our country can’t survive this. We can’t survive this.”…
