Protests erupt after Minneapolis woman killed during ICE shooting

Mass protests erupted across the country following the fatal shooting in Minnesota of 37-year-old single mother Renee Nicole Good by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent Jonathan Ross.

On Wednesday, January 7, Good, a poet, was fatally shot by Ross in South Minneapolis. The shooting occurred during a large-scale federal immigration operation known as “Operation Metro Surge.”

Good was part of a network of volunteer “legal observers” or “street watchers” who monitor federal law enforcement activity to document potential civil rights violations and alert neighborhoods of incoming raids…
