Two Men Injured in Brooklyn Bodega Shooting as Police Offer $5,000 Reward

Violence erupted in a Brooklyn bodega on Friday when two men were shot at Alex Deli & Grocery, located at 1256 Flatbush Avenue. The incident, which took place in the afternoon, left a 24-year-old with a gunshot wound to the face and a 26-year-old shot in the back, as reported by the New York Post. Authorities responded, and both victims were taken to Kings County Hospital in stable condition. The shooter, described as wearing a black puffer jacket and ski mask, reportedly fled the scene and has not yet been captured.

The search for the suspect continues while the motive remains under investigation. A $5,000 reward has been offered by the United Bodegas Association for information that will help to quickly identify and arrest the person or persons responsible for the shooting. In the wake of the violence, the organization’s spokesperson, Fernando Mateo, unequivocally condemned the attack and called upon the local government for support, as he told ABC7NY, “We are sending a clear message to Mayor Mandami and Governor Hochul. We need funding for panic buttons and real security measures. Our members cannot do this alone. The City and the State must step up to protect the men and women who own and operate these bodegas.”…
