BAY RIDGE — QUESTIONS REMAIN UNANSWERED as to why a Bay Ridge man climbed out the rear passenger window of a moving vehicle on the Belt Parkway last Thursday. He hit his head on the guardrail and died. It was around 9:04 p.m. on Jan. 8 when police responded to an incident at the Belt Parkway and 92 Street Pedestrian Bridge. The NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad determined that a 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe, operated by a 69-year-old man, was traveling eastbound on the Belt when passenger Rami Elsuwi, 43, “exited” through the rear passenger window, striking his head on the guardrail. Police said Elsuwi sustained severe trauma to the head and was pronounced deceased on the scene by EMS.
