A car wash employee is in critical condition after a co-worker allegedly hit him with a customer’s car.

The crash occurred just before 11 a.m. local time on Wednesday, Jan. 21, in front of 296 4th Avenue, in Brooklyn, New York, according to a news release from the New York City Police Department (NYPD) obtained by PEOPLE.

An investigation determined a 37-year-old employee of the car wash was attempting to park a 2024 Toyota Sienna that had just recently been cleaned when he “pushed the accelerator pedal,” causing the van to hit a 27-year-old man…
