Female stranger beats, chokes straphanger, 49, in NYC subway station as rush-hour tensions flare: cops, sources

A female stranger pummeled and choked a 49-year-old woman when tensions flared as they inched past each other inside a Queens subway station during the morning rush last week, cops and sources said.

The victim was trying to leave the 30th Avenue N train station in Astoria around 9:45 a.m. Jan. 13 when she got into an argument with another straphanger as they walked “around each other.”
