Residents wake up to flooded homes after water main break creates mess in Sheepshead Bay

Residents along a street in Brooklyn are dealing with a mess after they woke up Tuesday morning to a water main break that flooded their homes with water and mud.

The block between Emmons Avenue and Shore Parkway in Sheepshead Bay is covered in a frozen mud after a water main burst in the middle of the night.

“This morning. I woke up around 5 in the morning. I was about to leave for work, and I start walking through my house and there’s a puddle in the middle of my living room,” said resident Elan Samarin. “And I keep walking through. I see the orange lights, and next thing I know, I turn the lights on. Everything is covered in mud. And it was it was a mess.”‘…
