JFK AIRPORT – KATHRYN GARCIA, FORMERLY head of the city’s Department of Sanitation, was sworn in as the new executive director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey on Thursday.
At a meeting of the PA’s board, also on Thursday, Garcia said she intends to take a “multipronged approach” to the problem of illegal taxis preying on passengers at JFK Airport, a hazard that’s gotten worse since the pandemic, according to sources that spoke to Gothamist.
