‘Shocked’: Family upset over Black history lesson that had students act as slaves

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHAM) – A New York school district is under fire after a student and parent filed a complaint over a classroom history lesson about share cropping and slavery.

The activity was part of a lesson last September, but an investigation report released in December deemed the complaint unfounded.

The parent, Tovia Poles, is now fighting back with help from civil liberties officials…
