New York City has been placed under a weather alert as the region is expect to be blanketed by more snow.
The fresh blast of winter weather comes after a deadly cold snap that gripped the city for more than three weeks. At least 19 people have died from the cold weather in NYC since a Code Blue was issued on January 19.
“It is certainly safe to say this is going to be a year that is outside the norm, which is tragic, and I feel that every day,” Department of Social Services Commissioner Molly Park said earlier this week.
