NYPD’s first Black woman First Deputy Commissioner, inspires change

NEW YORK CITY (PIX 11) — Tania Kinsella is breaking barriers as the highest-ranking Black woman in the New York City Police Department.

She is the first woman of color to hold the position as First Deputy Commissioner in the department’s history.

“I never would have thought that I would be the second in command of the largest — and best — police department in the world,” Kinsella said.
