NYC trash and recycling collections delayed due to snowstorm

NEW YORK (PIX11) — Trash, recycling, and compost collections are delayed due to the ongoing cleanup for the winter storm that dumped over a foot of snow across New York City.

New Yorkers are being informed to expect delays through Saturday.

Department of Sanitation Commissioner Javier Lojan spoke with PIX11 News on Monday during the storm, asking residents to hold their recyclables.

“There will be some delays. If you have scheduled recycling, we are asking everybody to hold it if possible. Once we resume collection, we will prioritize the trash and the compost… we hope to get back on track soon,” said Lojan…
