A homeless man has been charged with murder in connection with the fatal beating of another homeless man whose body was found on Friday inside a makeshift shelter in Paterson.

Jamie Lopez, 32, is charged with first-degree murder, fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon and third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose in the death, which occurred in the area of 140 Marshall St.
