NYC man sentenced for mailing drugs tied to dark web operation

New York (WRGB) — A New York City man was sentenced to more than 6 years in federal prison after prosecutors said he helped traffic ecstasy through the mail as part of a dark web drug operation.

38-year-old Nan Wu from New York City was sentenced yesterday to 78 months in prison for trafficking methylenedioxymethamphetamine, commonly referred to as MDMA or ecstasy, through the mail. U.S. District Judge Anne M. Nardacci also ordered a three-year term of supervised release to follow Wu’s release from prison.

As detailed in Wu’s plea agreement, prosecutors said Wu worked with a drug trafficking organization that used the dark web and the postal system to traffic MDMA from points outside the United States to New York City for distribution. Authorities said Wu received packages in the mail containing MDMA and delivered the drugs to a co-conspirator in New York City…
