Mayor James Solomon has appointed Jersey City Fire Department Deputy Chief Loren M. Hart as acting deputy public safety director, the city announced March 6. Hart will serve under Acting Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose.
Hart, a lifelong Jersey City resident, brings more than two decades of experience with the Jersey City Fire Department. Over a 23-year career, he has risen through the ranks from firefighter to captain, battalion chief and deputy fire chief, a position he has held since 2022.
“Loren Hart is Jersey City, born and raised,” Solomon said in a statement. “He has spent 23 years protecting his neighbors, his community and his city as a member of the Jersey City Fire Department.”…
