Man indicted for scamming NYC food truck vendors out of over $50K

NEW YORK, N.Y. — A New Jersey man was indicted on charges of scamming over $50,000 from people looking for food truck licenses in New York City.

Mohamed Orabi, 33, of Jersey City, allegedly posed as someone who could secure city permits for food vendors, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg announced Monday.

Court documents allege that Orabi stole the sum from at least two food truck vendors and a pushcart vendor in New York City between October 2024 and November 2025…
