A Code Blue is in effect in New York City from 4 p.m. to 8 a.m. During this time, outreach teams will canvass all five boroughs to connect people who are homeless with shelters. No one seeking shelter during a Code Blue will be turned away. Residents who see someone who may need help should contact 311 by phone or through the mobile app to request outreach assistance.
