A 40-year-old man was shot and later died after police found him at the corner of Wortman Avenue and Ashford Street in East New York just after 9 a.m. Monday. Officers had him rushed to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased.

Police say they responded to a 911 call reporting a person shot shortly after 9 a.m. and arrived to find the victim with gunshot wounds to his torso and right leg. According to officers, he had been shot twice. He was taken to Brookdale and later pronounced dead. No arrests had been made as of Monday, and detectives are continuing to investigate, according to News 12 Brooklyn.
