An elderly Sunnyside man was found dead inside his apartment just after 10 p.m. on Thursday night.
Police from the 108th Precinct in Long Island City responded to a 911 call of a person in need of medical attention at a residential building at 45-59 45th St. just south of Greenpoint Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found an 85-year-old man unconscious and unresponsive sitting upright in a chair with a laceration to his neck, police said. EMS responded to the location and pronounced the senior dead at the scene. The office of the chief medical examiner’s office will determine the cause of death.
