STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — An application has been filed to amend a Brownfield Cleanup Agreement at the proposed River North development site in St. George after the applicant of the long-stalled project reportedly sold one of the two parcels of land.
According to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), its offices were notified in December that Richmond SI Owner LLC, the applicant of the original River North project, was requesting the amendment, which involved a property split and major site modification.
“DEC received a Brownfield Cleanup Program application to amend the Brownfield Cleanup Agreement and a draft revised Remedial Action Work Plan from Stuyvesant VCD LLC, the new owner of one of the parcels,” the DEC noted in a statement, explaining that plans are in place to divide the original site into River North and River North II…
