“Anger” fueled suspect in deadly stabbings of women in Nassau County: police

Nassau Police shared details Saturday about the suspect in the stabbing deaths of two women more than 24 hours earlier.

Rony Yahir Alvarenga Rivera, 22, is charged with First Degree and Second Degree Murder, Police Chief Patrick Ryder told reporters. “Both females were were killed by multiple stab wounds to the neck and torso,” he said.

Authorities say Alvarenga Rivera knew both victims. One of the women, a 42-year-old, was killed while taking out garbage at the Wendy’s restaurant where she worked at 33 Austin Blvd. in Island Park. Alvarenga Rivera also worked at the Wendy’s. The woman killed at that location was a mother of two children, ages 8 and 1 1/2…
