BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — North Tonawanda continued a longstanding tradition Saturday with their annual Fire Parade.
The City of Tonawanda and North Tonawanda’s Fire Departments teamed up for a march through the city, giving the community a chance to honor their local firefighters.
“If for nothing else, it inspires the next generation, if we can inspire the next generation, kids come to the parade and say hey, I want to do that one day, and they have the opportunity to do that in the future, it’s a great opportunity to do so,” Captain David Cole of the North Tonawanda Fire Department said. “For our younger individuals, it’s a great opportunity for community involvement because you can actually make a difference to your community, whether it’s a citizen in need, whether it’s a building on fire, whether it’s just a simple community service, getting involved in your community is what makes everything go.”…
