Parking will cost $2 at Canal Fest this year

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A new location means a new parking situation for a Western New York summer tradition.

Leaders from Canal Fest, which begins Sunday, advised this week that attendees of the eight-day-long event will be charged $2 to park.

The notification comes after a decision by organizers to move the event to Gratwick Park in North Tonawanda — instead of the area along the Erie Canal around Main and Webster Streets in the cities of Tonawanda and North Tonawanda where the festival had taken place for more than 40 years…
