Along 4 The Hike: Emery Park/Parks Adventure Bus

SOUTH WALES, N.Y. (WIVB) — On July 25 the NFTA’s Parks Adventure Bus will take area residents, for free, to a hidden gem in South Wales: Emery Park.

Erie County purchased the land from the Emery family in 1925. In the 1930s the Works Progress Administration built many stone structures during the Second New Deal. Many remnants are still around, from buildings and bridges to a large incinerator and a monument to George Washington.

Buses will leave the Metropolitan Transportation Center in downtown Buffalo at 9:45 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:15 p.m. and 3:10 p.m. You’ll be able to enjoy hiking trails, bicycling, disc golf, baseball, picnicking, playgrounds, and tennis. At 11 a.m. and noon you can take part in Disc Golf 101. You can find additional information here…
