BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A citizen of India was arrested for allegedly defrauding elderly victims in a multimillion-dollar scheme, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said Thursday.
According to a criminal complaint, the IRS Criminal Investigation Division discovered an internet and telephone-based fraud scheme in January that targeted elderly victims throughout the Western District of New York and other parts of the country.
