BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Longtime Buffalo radio broadcaster Sandy Beach, who spent nearly six decades on the airwaves across Western New York, died at 86, WBEN announced Friday.
Beach arrived in Buffalo in 1968 and spent many years at WKBW there before heading to WBEN in 1993. He spent 23 years hosting the “Beach and Company” show on WBEN. He retired in 2020 and handed the microphone to David Bellavia.
He was inducted into the Buffalo Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2003. He was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland in the disc jockey category in 2013, and into the New York State Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2017…
