A Grand Island Bridge search was underway in Western New York after authorities said a man jumped from the South Grand Island Bridge into the Niagara River, triggering a large emergency response involving law enforcement and marine rescue crews.
The incident occurred Friday evening, Aug. 21, according to reporting from WGRZ, which said authorities were searching the river after the man reportedly jumped roughly 100 feet from the bridge.
As of the latest information reviewed by the Utica Phoenix, authorities had not announced that the man had been located.
