Woman found dead in parking lot on Amherst Street

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A woman was pronounced dead after being found unresponsive in her vehicle in the Wegmans parking lot on Amherst Street, police said.

Authorities responded to the scene shortly after 4 p.m. Saturday. Buffalo Fire and AMR personnel attempted to resuscitate the woman before she was pronounced dead.

The cause of the woman’s death is currently under investigation. According to the department, homicide detectives investigate all unattended deaths that occur in the city, and the presence of the homicide unit does not necessarily imply foul play at this time.
