BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Tifft Nature Preserve is a 264-acre refuge dedicated to conservation and environmental education, a natural oasis right within the city of Buffalo.
The preserve was once a landfill site. The city bought the land in 1972 and sealed off the waste. In 1982 Tifft became part of the Buffalo Museum of Science, which runs it to this day. On this hike Scott is joined by Meghan Dye, the vice president of learning for the museum and Tifft. We were originally going to do this hike in July but delayed it until now so she could show off several improvement projects at the preserve that are now complete.
