BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Tonawanda man was sentenced to four to 12 years in prison Friday following a fatal hit and run on Buffalo’s West Side, the Erie County District Attorney’s Office said.
On May 8, 2024, the defendant, 30-year-old Brian M. Borth, was driving south on Niagara Street around 12:30 a.m. when he hit a man riding a skateboard, 21-year-old Angel Ruiz. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
After the initial impact, Borth lost control of the vehicle, hitting another parked vehicle and crashing into a home. Borth fled the scene after the collision and was found by authorities a short time later near West Avenue and Albany Street…
