BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Catholic Health nursing home workers held a picket on Wednesday as employees at McAuley Residence in Kenmore and the St. Catherine Laboure Health Care Center on Main Street seek improved benefits and wages.
Workers have been working without a contract since July 30; talks over a new contract began in May and a temporary extension has since expired.
Catholic Health nursing home workers say they are seeking similar benefits to an agreement that was reached with workers at Schoellkopf Health Center in Niagara Falls in 2025; a priority is the inclusion of the 1199SEIU Childcare Fund “to help recruit and retain more workers to care for residents.”…
