BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo man has been accused of using postal service keys to steal mail from collection boxes in Cheektowaga and deposit stolen checks, the United States Attorney’s Office said.
Jaquan Greene, 20, is facing charges of conspiracy to commit mail theft, bank fraud and aggravated identity theft. The charges carry a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison.
Officials allege that Greene acquired postal service keys and unlocked collection boxes on Cayuga Road in Cheektowaga between February 2026 and April 2026; he’s accused of depositing stolen checks into an account at Citizens Bank. Greene was taken into custody in April after allegedly fleeing from law enforcement after officers located him allegedly stealing mail from a collection box on Cayuga Road.
