Buffalo man gets over 12 years in prison for fatal stabbing on West Side

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo man was sentenced to 12 1/2 years in prison Wednesday for fatally stabbing a victim on the city’s West Side, the Erie County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Officials said 32-year-old Anthony Reynolds stabbed 26-year-old Marquese Smith in the torso on April 6, 2023 inside a building on West Utica Street between Linwood Avenue and Main Street. Smith died from his injuries at the scene.

Reynolds pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree manslaughter on Nov. 29, 2023. He will serve five years of post-release supervision upon the conclusion of his prison sentence.
