Buffalo man arraigned for stealing truck, fleeing officers in Tonawanda

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo man is facing several charges for allegedly stealing a pickup truck and then fleeing police officers in Tonawanda on Monday night, according to the Erie County District Attorney’s office.

Kahill Reeves, 20, is accused of stealing a Ford F-150 truck out of a driveway on Dupont Avenue just after 7:45 p.m. Monday.

While police were investigating, they allegedly observed Reeves get into the truck at another residence on the 1400 block of Sheridan Drive, drive at a high rate of speed and hit an occupied police car. He is then accused of driving through a front lawn and then traveling on Sheridan to avoid police.

He was taken into custody following a short pursuit.

Reeves is charged with the following:

  • attempted assault on a peace officer, police officer, fireman or emergency medical services professional, one count
  • first-degree reckless endangerment, one count
  • third-degree grand larceny, one count
  • first-degree unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, one count
  • fourth-degree grand larceny, one count
  • third-degree criminal mischief, one count
  • third-degree unlawful fleeing of a police officer in a motor vehicle, one count
  • third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, one count
  • reckless driving, one count
  • numerous vehicle and traffic violations
