BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A 16-year-old has been found guilty of fatally shooting a 24-year-old in South Buffalo in 2022, the Erie County District Attorney’s office said Tuesday.
A jury found that the teen shot Morrell Buster, Jr. in the neck on the 100 block of Spaulding Avenue in the early-morning hours of June 26, 2022. He was 14 years old at the time of the shooting. The gun, which was illegal, was never recovered.
The teen was found guilty of one count of first-degree manslaughter and one count of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
The teen is eligible for youthful offender status. If denied that status, he faces from 3 1/3 to 10 years in prison when he is sentenced on April 3.
